Why shades matter more in the UAE
In many Dubai and Abu Dhabi homes, a large part of the façade is glass. Direct sun through glass heats a room much faster than the AC can cool it, and the afternoon sun fades sofas, rugs and wooden floors. Closing the shades before the sun hits the window is the cheapest way to keep a room cool.
What automation adds
- Sun tracking. Each façade closes when the sun is on it and opens when it moves on — east in the morning, west in the afternoon.
- Away mode. When the house is empty in summer, shades stay closed to protect the interior and reduce the cooling load.
- Scenes. "Movie" lowers the blackout blinds, "Good morning" opens the bedroom curtains slowly with your alarm.
- Privacy. Evening scenes close sheers on street-facing windows automatically.
We plan curtain pockets, power and control cables together with your interior designer, so the motors are completely hidden. Read more: how automated shades cut heat gain through glass.
Questions clients ask most
Are motorized shades noisy?
Quality motors are very quiet — you hear the fabric more than the motor. We avoid cheap motors precisely because of noise in bedrooms.
Can I still open curtains by hand during a power cut?
Most curtain tracks can be moved by hand when the power is off; roller blinds stay where they are until power returns.
Can shades be added to a finished apartment?
Yes. Battery or plug-in motors can be retrofitted, although for large glass façades we recommend wired motors planned during fit-out.
